I found your book on Audible and I listened to the entire thing in one day. I just could not put it down. I loved the choice of Jeffery Kafer as the narrator. I can not wait to read TFS Theseus. Will it be coming out in Audiobook form and if so do you have a release date for it yet? Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much, Michael, I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed it! Yes, TFS Theseus should be available on Audible soon, but I don’t have a release date just yet. Jeffrey Kafer is returning for the second book and just finished up recording last week. Sometimes it takes a while to get all of the final production finished, but I suspect it will be available within the next month or so. As soon as I have a final date from the publisher, I’ll post it on the blog.

I am currently reading TFS Ingenuity and searched for your blog to comment. (full disclosure, I am a published author myself) I spent some time in politics as a State Assemblyman representing a district in Las Vegas,NV and am very familiar with Nellis, Groom Lake, Yucca Mountain, etc. Your depiction fit beautifully into the narrative you’re building. I also appreciate your taking the time to logically link actions with consequences. That is the sign of a writer who respects his/her readers, and that is becoming a rarity these days.

My father-in-law worked on the Yucca Mountain DOE project at one point, so it was important to me to try to be as accurate as possible within the bounds of the fictional story line. Interestingly, I received more negative comments for that “landing sequence” part of the story than any other. I think that’s simply because there are so many people who read science fiction these days who expect nonstop action and generally consider any other parts of the story a waste of their time. Reviewers kept saying things like “it took forty pages to land the ship,” when, in reality, that section was full of important revelations about the Humans’ progress in the Pelaran cultivation program. If there is one thing being an author has reinforced for me, it’s that old saw what you can’t please everyone!
The second book has a little political drama, so please let me know how you like it.

Oh don’t be sorry! I was more just so engrossed in the book that I didn’t want to put it down. The length was actually just right.
I have one question for you, as an author that uses kindle unlimited. Do you prefer people to purchase your books outright or does kindle unlimited make it worth while?
Authors almost always make more when you purchase the book rather than borrow it. Even if the borrower reads 100% of the book, authors still generally make more from a purchase at price points of $2.99 and above. For the large percentage of books that are downloaded but never actually read, the author essentially receives nothing. Amazon no longer provides statistics on the number of downloads for this very reason, but most estimates I have seen indicate that a book like Ingenuity would have generated roughly double the revenue for the author before the advent of Kindle Unlimited. Frankly, Amazon, as well as the steady stream of plagiarized books posted every month, are making it more and more difficult for authors to earn enough to make writing financially viable. They more or less admitted last month that their method of counting both the pages in a book and “page turns” is grossly inaccurate, so it will be interesting to see what, if anything, they do to make the system more equitable for everyone … rather than just Amazon itself. Off my soapbox. 🙂
Loved the book Tori! Definitely going to reread a few times while waiting for the next one. I really enjoyed the direction the book is going with several of the different plots. This series has definitely entered my list of favorite fictional universes. Keep up the good work!

Sorry I couldn’t make it any longer, but the story reached a natural break point around 85,000 words and I’m trying to stick to a six month release schedule. Theseus was about 25% longer than Ingenuity, so hopefully I’ll continue to get faster as I go!
